The Katsina State Community Development Programme (CDP) has announced the commencement of the sale of subsidised fertiliser for the 2026 rainy season across the state.

The programme is targeted at farmers in all the 361 wards of the state, with the fertiliser priced at a subsidised rate of N25,000 per bag.

According to the announcement, distribution has been structured across the three zones of the state. Polling units in Katsina Zone will receive 50 bags each, while those in Daura Zone are allocated 45 bags per unit. In Funtua Zone, each polling unit will get 60 bags.

The programme also provides for large-scale farmers, with each ward allocating slots for 10 farmers, each entitled to 10 bags of fertiliser.

The CDP urged beneficiaries to cooperate with Community Development Officers (CDOs), Community Learning Officers (CLOs), and Community Support Officers (CSOs) during the registration and distribution process. It emphasised the need for accurate documentation using valid identification to ensure transparency and avoid errors.

To enhance accountability, lists of beneficiaries for each ward will be displayed at Community Learning Centre (CLC) offices within the respective wards.

The programme added that further details on distribution modalities would be communicated in due course.

Residents, particularly farmers, have been encouraged to take advantage of the initiative to boost agricultural productivity during the 2026 farming season.

The statement was signed by Abubakar Salisu Charanchi on behalf of the State Coordinator.
